About Coach Jon

Helping players, parents, and coaches unlock their full potential — one tool at a time.

Baseball has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. After playing collegiate baseball, I knew I wasn’t done with the game. I stepped into coaching and have spent the last 10 years guiding nearly every age group in competitive travel baseball — from 8U rookies to seasoned high school athletes.

In that time, I’ve seen what works, what doesn’t, and how to create a path that develops players in all five tools: hitting, fielding, throwing, base running, and game IQ. My approach blends technical skill development with mental preparation so players can perform when it matters most.

I started Five Tool Framework to give coaches, players, and parents the same structure and strategies I’ve used to build confident, capable athletes and winning teams.

When I’m not on the field, you’ll usually find me watching a game, designing new practice plans, or spending time with my wife and two daughters — who, thankfully, love baseball as much as I do.

What’s the difference between private lessons and team coaching services?
